J. Robert Wood, 1983-1984

James Robert “Bob” Wood is a Glasgow native and a career educator.  He graduated from Glasgow High School and has
a B.S., M.A., and Rank I from WKU with additional graduate work at UK.  He began his teaching career in a seventh-grade,
self-contained classroom in Daviess County.  He taught and coached basketball in Columbia County, Florida, before returning to teach business education in the Bowling Green City and Jefferson County Schools.  In 1970, Wood became school business administrator for the Bowling Green School System, a position he held until he retired in 1992.  Wood became a member of KASBO in 1971.  He served as president in 1982-83.  Wood served on several committees of KASBO and ASBO and chaired the insurance committee that was instrumental in implementing the Cafeteria Plan for all Kentucky schools.  Wood is a recipient of the KASA Leadership Award.  Wood’s career spans 33 years in the educational field.  He is a Korean War navy veteran.  Bob and his wife, Joy, have made their home in Bowling Green.  They enjoy traveling and visiting with their three children and six grandchildren
